Artistic Residences
Artistic residencies are essential moments in the creative process: temporary spaces for concentration, experimentation and artistic research. They provide the freedom to test ideas, explore different approaches and develop a project without the pressure of a finished outcome. The creative process often evolves through several residencies, with teams and collaborators expanding as the project develops. Solitaria, for example, evolved through three stages between 2013 and 2019, while Memorabilia developed through two residencies. Other projects, such as Morabeza included residencies in Cape Verde, and Farol in Porto. Residencies are, above all, laboratories for creation — places where ideas can be tested, transformed and shared.
